  • Prevention Best Practices - What works and what doesn’t work? Prevention has changed radically through the years. Examine past strategies and current best practice in communities, schools, and families.
  • 40 Developmental Assets & Resiliency - Search Institute’s framework for positive youth development is an exciting way to think about and work with youth of all ages.
  • Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) – This training is great for those in the health field, parents, students, school staff, coalitions, and others who come into contact with this special population.  Topics covered include history, causes, statistics, behavior challenges, and best practices for working with individuals who have FASD.
  • Drug Free Workplace - We can help train staff and management in corrective review and offer a wide range of education topics for employee training regarding drugs and alcohol to fit drug free workplace policy requirements
  • You and Your Teen In Cyberspace - A forum for parents on technology including:
    • Beginner - Participants will learn how to check their internet cache, how to search their names on line, setting passwords for profiles and general computer security, and general guidelines for setting rules and boundaries regarding internet use.
    • Intermediate - All about blogs!  This session covers Myspace, Facebook and Youtube.  Participants will look at, create and search social networking sites. 
    • Advanced - Topics covered are Key Stroke Logging, Cyber Snooping and how to deal with and prevent Cyber Bullying of your teen.
    • “Text Jeopardy” - How to decipher the messages kids send to each other over their phones and on instant messages.  LOL, TTFN and others, participants are lead through a game that will teach them the basics of how to read “cyber language”.
  • Environmental Prevention - Environmental prevention uses policy interventions to create an alcohol environment that supports healthy, safe behavior.  This presentation also looks at how to assess the environment you are in, to see where change should begin and explains environmental prevention in everyday language.
  • Media Literacy - A multi-media interactive presentation that examines the ways advertisers encourage our thinking.  Presentations can be tailored to address tobacco, body image, violence, alcohol, culture or addiction.

  • Marijuana: Separating Fact From Fiction - This program provides an extensive overview of marijuana, its use, the health consequences, and legal risks. It allows for open discussion about its use.
  • Acute Alcohol Intoxication - AAI is a rapid, severe, intense poisoning by alcohol. This presentation looks at what it means, who is vulnerable, signs and symptoms, contributing factors, affects of large amounts of alcohol on the body, and what to do if you are with someone suffering from AAI.
  • Addiction 101 - Learn the stages involved in addiction as well as the common signs and symptoms that follow at risk behavior as well as substance abuse addiction.  The three modules include our choices, our biological risk and what role the family environment plays in the lives of those who grow up in a home where substance abuse is present.  This is a look at addiction and risk in terms anyone can understand.
  • By the Numbers: Reducing the Risk for Alcohol-related Problems - This program looks at what it means when someone says “drink responsibly” or “know when to say when”. It looks at pitfalls with these statements, identifies “by the numbers” recommendations – 0,1,2,4, discusses gender differences, and provides specifics on how to avoid drinking too much.  
  • Science Based Drug Education - A look at the science behind addiction to different substances, the difference between stimulants, depressants and hallucinogens. Special emphasis can be given to any group of drugs, especially Methamphetamine, cocaine and heroin and up and coming drug trends.  A good presentation for people in the field, parents and community coalitions.
  • Parents! How Do YOU Talk to Your Kids About Drugs? - Parents have to wade through a lot of conflicting information regarding how best to address the issue of drug use and their children. This presentation offers basic advice on sound parenting practice. Also included are the signs and symptoms of substance use, common hiding places, and paraphernalia as well as slang drug terms.
  • Real Colors - Is a simple, easy to administer system for identifying the four temperaments (Blue, Gold, Green or Orange ). It provides users with an effective tool for understanding human behavior, for uncovering motivators specific to each temperament and for improving communication skills.

Price Quotes:
$25.00 for up to atwo hour training, $25 for each hour after that
Cost of mileage and additional cost for travel time will be added if presentation area is outside of Lancaster County (mileage charged at IRS rate)
Cost of lodging if required to stay overnight
Fees Include:
PowerPoint presentation, up to 30 handouts, technical assistance as follow up to training

Program Trainings

  • Safe Homes: How to implement, materials needed and support for new Safe Homes communities.  Two hour training plus materials and ongoing technical support:  $150.00 per team being trained.

  • TAP/TEG: 8 week class on either tobacco education, OR tobacco cessation for youth.  Hosting an 8 week session in either class: $400.00 for 1 facilitator and handouts for up to 15.

  • All Stars: 8 week prevention program for middle school students.  Hosting an 8 week session: $400.00 for 1 facilitator and included handouts for up to 30. Special materials, All Stars rings awards etc extra cost per participant.

  • Strengthening Multi-Ethnic Families: 8-13 week parenting class that addresses ages 3-18 years of age, discipline, rites of passage, parent child relationship and trouble shooting are key components to this hands on class for parents.  Length of time can vary depending on how the class is set up. Hosting 8 one hour sessions: $400.00 for 1 facilitator.  Manuals: $25.00 each.

  • When it Comes from You, Parenting: Hands on substance abuse prevention program for parents of elementary through high School students. Length of time can vary depending on how the class is set up. Hosting 8 one hour sessions: $400.00 for 1 facilitator and handouts for up to 30.

  • Children of Alcoholics Support Groups: 8 week program that provides support for youth growing up in an alcoholic/addicted home.  Education includes feelings, defenses, and strengths.  Hosting an 8 week group: $400.00 for 1 facilitator plus handouts for up to 10.

  • Prime for Life Under 21: Alcohol education for youth.  Hosting an 8 hour session: $400.00 for 1 facilitator and handouts for up to 30.

  • Creating Lasting Family Connections: CLFC is a comprehensive program geared toward helping parents and other caring adults, of youth ages 12-17, give youth the skills they need to be successful.  Simultaneously, the program provides youth training, in a separate room, to help youth develop skills for success. This substance abuse prevention program offers many advantages including research documented increases in many specific resiliency factors. Hosting a Train the Trainer workshop: 12-16 hours, $500.00-$600.00 depending on length of training session for 1 facilitator and materials.
