Advocacy and Policy

Why get involved?

In a nutshell, the world is run by the people who show up.

Policy-makers represent you, the people. In order for representative democracy to work, elected officials need to know what you think. Unless you tell them with a letter, phone call or personal testimony, they simply don’t know your concerns or issues if you choose not to make them known. Whether you work alone or with others, you can make a difference in things that are important to you – whether that means changing policy at a local, state or national level or simply advocating for changes through education and awareness.

One voice can make a difference when that voice is passionate and backed by data or personal experiences, and w hen joined with other like-minded voices, change can happen!
